As a business owner, who has been blessed over the years to have great staff and clients that have supported the business over the last 14 years, I feel truly fortunate and grateful. 

Along the journey of getting the business where it is today, our firm and its team members have had the privilege of being remunerated for providing service to exceptional business owners and individuals.

Over the years, as the business has grown and prospered, I have sometimes asked “what else is out there that we could do as a business to give a greater purpose in doing what we do, whilst still remaining a thriving and profitable business?”

Simon Sinek, an international marketing consultant and author of “Start with Why”, said:

“People don’t buy what you do, they buy why you do it.”

This inspired our team to understand what our purpose should be and we came up with this pretty simple ‘Why’:
“We get up in the morning and come to work to inspire and empower business owners and individuals to focus and do great, remarkable and inspiring things in managing their businesses and financial affairs.”

 Sure, we prepare accounts and tax returns too, but that’s simply a way of ensuring that great, remarkable and inspiring things are actually being done by our clients.

At a recent conference which Matt, Ashley and I attended, Paul Dunn did a presentation about ‘Adding Speed, Adding Purpose and Changing Lives’.  Paul is well-known around the world as someone who deeply influences the way business leaders think and act.  He’s also the Chairman of the revolutionary Buy1GIVE1 (or “B1G1” as most people know it).

The moment we saw Paul’s presentation on B1G1, we knew it would help us transform our business and, just as importantly, help us transform our clients’ businesses too.  It is founded on a principal of making it effortless to add a greater purpose to your business.

It gives us (and you) a fantastic way of making a huge difference in our world by allowing us to link everything we do to almost 700 projects in 28 countries around the world.  Every second, every day and in every way, making a real difference to people’s lives.

Imagine you were part of a world where every transaction made a key difference.

Imagine, for example, (as crazy as it might seem) the possibility of us preparing a BAS return AND, at the same time, giving a goat (yes, a goat) to a family in Kenya to give them a sustainable income for the rest of their lives. 

Or imagine if for every set of accounts we prepared, a child in Peru received much needed education for a semester, or a family in Malawi received clean water for a year, or someone in Bali received an operation to restore their sight.

The concept of B1G1 really resonated with me.  And the whole of the team at Eclipse Accounting Group are truly inspired by the extra good we can now do just by doing the good things we currently do.  We’re thrilled to be sharing it with you and that you will be a part of it.

Simon Sinek says:
“The goal is not to do business with everyone who needs what you have; it’s to do business with those who believe what you believe.”

And that, of course, is ultimately what makes for the great relationships we have with our clients. And we thank them for being a part of it.
